2 Aug 2013.

-Warm up in the dojo, 45min, slow kata and kihon.

-Active stretching, legs and core, 20min.

-2hr BB Kyokushin class.

3 Aug 2013.

-Gave the "Tapout Abs Workout" a go. Not too bad, but I felt I could do it again after about 5 min rest.

-Light jog around bush trails here at home (500m).

-1min boulder jumps (box jumps, but onto a 70cm high sandstone boulder).

-Uphill running on rocky/dirt fire trails (500m).

-Partnered focus pad work. Drilled several combinations over a 20min period, such as punches to high then low roundhouse, and, head-sway to mid roundhouse and overhand right.

-Body conditioning, punches to torso (chest and ribs focus), 5min.

-Legs conditioning, inside outside thigh kicks, 5min.

-Drilled knees from clinch (inside, over/under and underhook) with partner, 5min.

-Drilled elbows from clinch (inside and outside) with partner, 5min.

5 Aug 2013.

-Taught kids senior grades class, 1hr.

-Leg conditioning work with partner, 10min (basically just low roundhouse, inside/outside back and fourth).

-Active stretching, 10min.

-Drilled Brazilian kick, 5min.

-2hr Kyokushin class (evening).

-PNF stretching legs, 5min.

7 Aug 2013.

-20min interval running. Finished with 5min uphill intervals.

-Kicking circuits: Knees, front kick, roundhouse.

07 Aug 2013:

- Core & strength training: push-ups starting from "up" position, push-ups starting from "down" position, leg-lifts (laying on back), planks, holding kettle weights shoulder height with arms to side (for 1 minute intervals), horse and cat stances holding weighted medicine balls, kata

- Cardio: fast-paced hand-target and bag work in a circuit, kata

Remember the Tii!

45 min free roll. The crazy traveling that's been rampant in my life the last week and a half have made working out difficult at best and outright impossible most of the time. But finally, I get some mat time.

Drilled recovering guard from bottom side. Roll up to arm bar. Finished with kimura out of reverse triangle position.

12 Aug 13:

Core & strength: knuckle pushups, leg-lifts (lying on back), burpees

Body conditioning: training advanced kyu students in breathing technique to absorb blows to abdomen

Endurance: rapid execution of strikes, kicks, etc on bags / target mitts until pass fatigued

13 Aug 13:

Core & strength

100+ kicks with each leg in various combos (front, side, roundhouse, back)

Remember the Tii!
