pm yesterday-

Night shoot at the department. Ran thru the qualification course with flashlight and weapon mounted lights. Combat marksmanship course that was top notch.

today-

Round robin training in 3 min round blocks of drilling ground n pound and coverage from the guard and then the mount. Started with basically a coverage and stress inoculation drill. Then, added locking up and working survival mode. Added sweep and option to back out of it.

Moved on to mount/side mount with the same progression.

3, 3 min rounds of ground n pound sparring. We added a holster and facsimile handgun on a duty rig to this since most of us are cops. This worked well and we built on the drilling we just did only with the handgun to defend and use as a tool.

Finished with 30 min free roll.

BJJ nite:

Drill sweeping technique from half guard. Moved on to rounds from position. Worked on escaping/maintaining and submitting from mount; maintaining/escaping guard; and maintaining/escaping half guard.

Finished with 45 min free roll.

I have been keeping up a bit, although things have been a bit crazy lately. But, I've managed to find some things to do at home.

11-10-09

Did ATA and Sun Yi's white belt forms a few times each.

Knuckle push-ups: 20x2

ATA/Sun Yi's one-steps.

11-11-09

ATA/TTA one-steps

Front kicks: 1,2,3,4 kicks, up and down the floor a few times.

Knuckle push-ups: 25

11-12-09

Bench dips: 15x3

Jumping jacks: 40

Burpees: 10x2

ATA white belt form (Songham 1): 5 times.

today-

1.5 mile run

legs/shoulders

10 min cool down on Boomer. Drilled 1/2 guard game. Repped kimura set ups and sweeps.

yesterday-

BJJ nite:

Drilled closed guard sweep and set up. Transitioned to a triangle from there and worked on defeating the counter.

moved to top game and drilled taking mount from side followed by breaking the arm bar down.

Front leg side kicks: 1x10, 3x5 each leg

11-16-09

Front leg side kicks: 6 sets of 5 each leg, not setting foot down between kicks.

Front leg front kicks: 3 sets of 5 each leg.

Knuckle push-ups: 3x10

Aikido class: 7:30 - 9:30. Felt good to get back, but it sounds like we might have some issues arising. We may not be able to work out as a club after this semester is over.

11-18-09

Push-ups: 25, 20

Yoo Sin hyung: 5 times, and a few impartial run throughs.

TKD class: 6:00 - 7:00. I taught class tonight, getting ready for testing this Friday.
