2.5 mile run

chest/tris/abs

15 min on Boomer. Did a few reps of open guard sweeps to gi choke. Then spent the rest of the time on last nights material. Arm bars to triangle transitions.

Warm-up: bike 5 minutes, stretch 10 minutes.

Crunches: 30, 20, 15, 15, 10, 10 = 100...called for 150.

Lightweight shoulder workout:

Lateral raise (palm down): 10

Lateral raise (palm up): 10

Lateral raise (palm up, then down): 10

Front raise: 10

Cross-over jacks: 10

Military press: 10....

Repeated all of this 3 times with 5 lbs, then 3 lbs, then 0 lbs, nonstop. YIKES!!! :x

Assisted pull-ups: 12, max

Crunches: 50

Assisted pull-ups: 10

Dumbell biceps curls, 15, 10, 5 superset: 8, 10, 15 lbs (go up...)

Reverse crunches: 50

Assisted pull-ups: 8

DB bi curls 15, 10, 5 superset: 10, 12, 15 lbs (go up...)

Reverse crunches: 50

Morning

Aiki-taisos

Udefuri-undo (arm swinging exercise): 5 minutes

Udefuri-Choyaku undo (spinning exercise): 5 minutes

Bike 1 mile with the dog, stretch legs for 15 minutes.

Evening

TKD class: 6:00 - 7:00. Taught this class, and did some basics and forms with the class.

BJJ nite:

Drilled from full guard working passing under and arm and subsequently taking back. We also got a couple of variations on the pass aspect to work. Then, we finished with a sweep to Japanese mount.

Closed class out with live drilling on defending the rear naked choke and escape from back mount.

Free roll for 45 min.

yesterday-

8 hour CT course that we were evaluating for inclusion into our program. It was heavily JKD/Wing Chung based. Very interesting, effective on many levels. I'm hoping I can get in on board with us so I can continue to pick things up to integrate.

pm:

Drilled side mount escapes with partner followed by guard pass series. 60 min free roll.

Finished up working the infight and focused on forearm strikes. Reviewed some gun defense from the day.

today-

Settling in for long car ride to family homestead. Off day it is . :)

Warm-up: 5 min. on elliptical

Bench press: 165x10, 175x8, 185x6, 195x4, 215x2

Squats: 5 sets, 1 minute each set. These were done between the bench sets.

Assisted pull-ups: 10 max

Bike: 3 minutes

Dumbell military press: 12.5 lbs for 1 minute

Lunges: 30 seconds each leg

Straight bar curls: 80x10

Triceps push-down: 120x10

Heel raises: 1 minute

Dead lift: 315x5...this was the most I had ever done...and it was tough.

Power clean: 135x5

The sad thing about this was that I was supposed to repeat everything above one more time...

Jog 3/4 mile, 15 minutes leg stretch. Then rode bike for 20 minutes.
