6/9/2014 (evening)

TKD class: 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Taught class, and we had promotions come in, so new belts and certificates were handed out. Did basics, adding a few combinations at the end of it, and then taught new forms and new one-steps.

Aikido: 8:45 - 9:45 am. Did their "300" workout:

Shikko: 10 laps of their hombu = 31 laps of the floor at the local dojo.

Push-ups: 25 total, sets of 10, 10, 5.

Sit-ups: 50 total, sets of 10.

Jo strikes: downwards with squat, 50.

Forward rolls: 50

Backward rolls: 50

Breakfalls: 50

Finished with a good stretch.

TKD class: 6:00 - 7:10 pm. Taught again. Added in some extra basics; I had the class doing step behind, front leg hook kicks (similar to the way we do side kicks in basics), added a front stance, reverse punch, back leg side kick combo, and a combo doing punch, BL front kick, reverse punch, BL side kick. I had black belts to assist with forms, so we got through all new forms with the students, and then all new one-steps.

TKD class: 6:00 - 7:30 pm.

Pre-class warmup:

Dynamic side kick stretches, low, mid, hi, x9 each, on both sides.

BL front kicks: 5 each side

BL side kicks: 5 each side

BL round kicks: 5 each side

BL inside crescent kicks: 5 each side

BL outside crescent kicks: 5 each side

Class: taught tonight. Basics were improvised, adding a kick in with the basics going back the other way, either a front, side, or round kick, with the kick sometimes starting with the front leg, and then they set it down behind, so they had to think a little, and work some different movements. Also, added in the hook kick, and did the punch, front kick, punch, round kick combo. Forms, since there were only students, we did Yul Gok, Joong Gun (both blue belt forms), Toi Gye, and Hwa Rang (both brown belt forms). Next was one-steps, followed by a few rounds of sparring. The kids paired off together, and the teenagers together for the first round, then switched them for a rest for the teenagers, then put them back together. Not a bad night for only 4 students.

Aikido: (and Kendall did Wrestling) 8:45 - 10:00 am. I did 300, but made it 350...

Shikko: 31 runs (equal to 10 at the hombu)

Push-ups: 25, sets of 10,10,5

Sit-ups: 50, sets of 15,10,10,10,5

Jo strikes: downward with squat, 50

Forward rolls: 50

Backward rolls: 50

Forward breakfalls: 50

Getting up in base: 50, after each breakfall.

Kendall worked on his "duck walk" for shooting, did stand-ups on both sides, did switches on both sides, 5 of each (I tried to coax more out of him; the idea of repetitions eludes him still), some stance work, walking and running and staying low, sprawling, and he did several sets of wall sits. Overall, not bad for an 8 year old with no attention span.

Stretched out a bit.
