20 min of rounds working stance and handwork structure by and large. One round of kicks from Kali.

Finished with knife patterns and disarms.

25 Sept 2013.

-Warmup, active, dynamic and static stretching.

-P90X cardio.

-Partnered kick shield work. Low roundhouse, mid roundhouse and switch knees from clinch.

-Kicking drills (kihon).

26 Sept 2013.

-Kyokushin.

-Drilled kihon: hand tech, blocks and kicks (30min).

-Sokugi taikyoku ichi (x1), sono ni (x2), sono san (x3), sono yen (x4).

-Heavy bag work, x3 rounds focus on mawashi geri (roundhouse) finishers.

-Kicking combo's, focus on mid-high level combinations (30min).

-Stretch down (5min).

50 push ups knuckles

50 situps

50 Russian twists

Endurance work.

20 mins - Gedan mawashi Geri (heavy contact) 10 mins each leg

2 mins - fast gedan mawashi geri (pure speed no power) each leg

20 mins - combination,various punches (Body shots)

45 mins heavy sparring.

Defensive Tactics: 1:30 - 3:00 pm. Wrist grab escapes, choke defense review, punch defenses on ground 1-4, Kimura from guard, passing to guard when under side control along with elevator sweep, shrimping defense.

Taught TKD: 6:00 - 7:30 pm. Basics, added some extra side kick work. I had the students stand in natural ready stance, and a 1/2 count of chambering, and then turning the hip and pivoting the base foot to get the leg into the thrusting position; then I changed the 1/2 count to chamber, then kick with the pivot and rotation; so it was balance and chamber 1st, then pivot/push the next. Got through forms and one-steps, then did some sparring, then had time to do a jump front kick drill that gets the blood pumping.

40 mins dedicated to sparring. (Knockdown fighting)

-2hr kyokushin class (evening).

-Pushups competition with training partner.

Drilled lasso guard sweeps from the week.

30 min free roll. Focused on using the new material to sweep and then proceeded to focus on taking back and finishing.
