Happy Birthday! Think you'll want to do Muay Thai when you're 45? I'm still not sure I want to. Might be a little too risky for injury at this point in my life.

Happy Belated Birthday NinjaNurse,

You are an inspiration. I am proud to say that at 42 I am training HARD for blackbelt in May, and tonight I looked down the row in class to see several people with their heads down between their legs and I just smiled :D inside that is. It's good to be older and wiser and to still be in good shape. Life is good :karate:

"All your life you are told the things you cannot do. They will say you're not good enough, strong enough or talented enough; you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless. ………..….

“AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES."

I find keeping moving is the best way to fight off the aches and pains of years of training...any down-time and my joints let me know!

This is so true, as I've learned the past few years.

A belated happy birthday both to you and Bushido!

With respect,

Sohan

I just bought the book Stretching by Bob Anderson. It looks great and I can't wait to try the stretches. One nice feature is a section that shows quick stretches to do before and after various kinds of sports. There are a couple of pages for martial arts. I will also use the hip, groin, leg, and back stretches from the front of the book.

I'm still here. Hips are waaaaaaaay too inflexible! I really have to stretch more.
