tessone Posted May 14, 2002 Author Posted May 14, 2002 I like and hate squat kicks. Just squat down and come up and kick. Change legs each time you can thow front, side, etc. Its great I think. Ohyez. We call this kicking from in the hole. One of our master's favorite exercises is this: Divide the class into A Team and B Team. A Team throws kicks (usually 20 reps--five each side normal, five each side in the hole) and the black belt in charge of B Team does whatever he/she wants to B Team--pushups, situps, free squats, calf raises, you name it. Note that the team leaders also do these things. Then the teams switch. We usually run through this three or so times. _________________ Chris Tessone White Belt, Kuk Sool Won [ This Message was edited by: tessone on 2002-05-14 12:48 ] Chris TessoneBrown Belt, Kuk Sool Won
SaiFightsMS Posted May 15, 2002 Posted May 15, 2002 My favorite workout involves practicing kata at varying speeds. Then picking it apart and working on pieces. Then putting it back together.
karatekid1975 Posted May 15, 2002 Posted May 15, 2002 Other than kicking drills, I also love forms. Like Sai said, I love picking apart each form, working on each technique, then putting it back together. Laurie F
