mcmillintkd
I have a unique problem. My red belt tends to leave pink residue on my dobek/gi. Any suggestion on how to nuetralize this? I was thinking about scotguarding it but am not sure that would work.

bushido_man96
It is the dye from the belt, coming off because of the sweat. Try throwing the belt in the dryer once, and see what that does for you. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

JWLuiza
when u wash it does it come off?Wash it? Never wash your belts.....While many think that it is traditional to not watch your belt, that just isn't the case. There are threads here and on many boards about belt washing. Most of the impetus for thinking this is the erroneous belief in thinking that belts became black because of lack of washing. If your belt is dirty, stinky, and unsanitary please wash it. frightmaster
The dobak should be washed. I never smelled a bad belt. I just believe if you wash it you wash the knowledge away (I know it doesn't). February 24, 2007 I received my Black Belt in WTF TKD.
ninjanurse
I always wash new colored belts before wearing to class with cold water and vinegar. It sets the color in so it doesn't rub off. If your belt is dirty, stinky, and unsanitary please wash it.There are several reasons: one, the uniform, as we know it, was created by Jigoro Kano, I believe. Therefore, it is not all that old. Thus, the concept of the belt itself cannot be all that old, either. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
