needskill Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I have been accused of a crime. I might go to prison. I am 23 years old 5'10'', 180 and a little out of shape. I also look young for my age and helpless. If I go to prison I will not be able to defend myself. I am out on bail for the next two months and want to learn how to fight. How can I find a legitimate private crash course class in my area?what is the best dicipline to learn? (shoot wrestling? muy thai?)is it possible to be formidable in two months?
ps1 Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Not to sound too harsh. Hire a good defense attorney. Self defense is about knowing what problems are most threatning at your current moment. Your best defense is not to go to prison. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
ps1 Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I should also point out that I'm not trying to advocate running away or anything else illegal! "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius."
needskill Posted December 1, 2006 Author Posted December 1, 2006 I have a good defense attorney. I am innocent. There is evidence and testimony that corroborates my innocence I will not run away... Sometimes the justice system wrongly convicts innocent people. After a couple days in county, all I could think of was what was going to happen when someone wants to rape or stab me? I am a kid for my age.I want some advice from this community.I want to prepare myself for the worst case scenario.

Neo Dragon Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Id advise to study very basic hitting point's ie nose chest, groin and working only on basic hitting tequniques like open hand and closed hand. A quick front snap kick is also easy; but effective. If anything remember to keep up some kind of a guard even if its only a boxing stance.I don't really want to get too involved with this; but if your really woried about it then keep to very basic tecniques that are very simple to execute, and work on speed as much as you posibly can. Its unlikely that in two months your going to have that much of a difference in your fighting abbility; but I believe this is probly the best way to maximise your effectiveness with the amount of time.
cathal Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Since you are strapped for time you don't really have enough time to learn any system well, so it really sin't going to matter. For what it's worth Boxing might be your best bet since they focus just on your arms and punching combinations. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
mantis.style Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 Fighting in prison is not the smartest thing to do. Best bet is to learn how to keep your head down. traditional chinese saying:speak much, wrong much
SBN Doug Posted December 1, 2006 Posted December 1, 2006 I agree with boxing or Muy Thai. Also, you may find some generic "Self Defense" place that will show you the quickest ways to slow someone down. Don't look at grappling cause you have no time to learn it well.Depending on the sentance, you could find yourself lucky enough to where your biggest worry is what's playing on the big screen today. Not every prison is maximum security style, some are more like country clubs. Good luck. Kuk Sool Won - 4th danEvil triumphs when good men do nothing.
