little kicker Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 just thought this was interesting how flexiable can u get!lolhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8v3XrPSbp-o speedagressionsurprise
Shotokan-kez Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 That was really good. She was very flexible and dynamic, i think i would have collapsed with exhaustion after the first minute lol Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
Elky Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 A grading examiner once said to someone in my club: "you're technique's good, but it has no 'soul'". I think that describes that video. Where's the "oomph!", the "zanshin"?Amazing strength and flexibility though.
bushido_man96 Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 She is defenitely flexible, and must have some leg strength, but the speed was a little less than stellar.Props to her, though, I can't do that! https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
little kicker Posted November 28, 2006 Author Posted November 28, 2006 yeah i htought she was a bit slow to.shed be good for deception in a fight though.who excepcts you to do that lol.good horse stance at the begining mines rubbish!WHY Do we even do horse stances anyway hmmm.got me thinking now speedagressionsurprise
dragonwarrior_keltyr Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 She's got good flexibility. I suspect she was in gymnastics. Some of those moves looked like she'd done some before. I did a few of those such as the splits and that arial in gymnastics. I agree though, she's lacking in spirit and power. If she gets that she'd be one heck of a fighter! External training without the training of the mind is nothing
Shotokan-kez Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 Oh i don't know, i thought her speed was ok, but i do agree with everyone else there wasn't much spirit or zanshin. Would love to be that flexible though lol Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
Jiffy Posted November 28, 2006 Posted November 28, 2006 hate to be a stick in the mud, but I was rather un impressed. While her flexibility was fantastic, it completely lacked fluidity, speed and -power.More of a dance routine than a martial arts display. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
bushido_man96 Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 She had great balance as well. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
obiwansbane Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 i prefer that vid.. mostly the same stuff i just think it was slightly better due to being timed with the music Brown belt... win trophies... grade... lose trophies... so much fun
