Shotokan-kez
My sensei (wado-ryu) is currently training in aikido. He's shown me one or two of the things he's been learning. It looks interesting - completely different on one level, yet with some similar concepts on another. I wouldn't mind doing that, but I want to wait until I get my shodan in karate first because I think its better to persevere at one thing for a while and learn it well than to spread my attention too much.Yeah Fish that was my idea too, i'm hopefully grading for shodan in six months so i was waiting, don't my sensei thinking that just cos i got shodan i was going to give up his club and train elsewhere. Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk

username8697
In my dojo cross style training is approved of and even encouraged as their are numerous workshops from other styles of karate.I would certanly encourage doing workshops with diffrent teachers of the same school at first and later train with other styles. Workshops give you a great oppurtunity to train with people from different dojos this can be very enlightning to say the least.I would not however advise cross style until being higher up in rank else it might lead to confusion.
