how come when i go outside with my jacket not zipped up when its cold and raining out the same day or the next day i have a sore throat and a mild headache.

Sounds like you may have a minor cold, or some infection in your lungs. Go check with the doctor. Cold weather tends to bring around that kind of feeling.
