topkicknow
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4rvBvxrkB-k&NRWould it attract more female students? Is their technique any good? Thanks
ps1
Wow!!! That was three seconds of terrible self defense followed by 3 minutes and 5 seconds of, "when will it stop?!"I think the fancy stuff tends to attract people. But I felt the demo was very weak. Many of the techniques were not believable at all!Not my thing in any way. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius." username8517
Wow!!! That was three seconds of terrible self defense followed by 3 minutes and 5 seconds of, "when will it stop?!"Odd, I had the same feeling too. I agree that things like this might attract females to self-defense but the attacks and defense were pretty unrealistic. But if it gets some people interested in MA, then I guess it can't be all that bad.

Its a poor example at best of self-defense especially real self-defense. If that really happened it would have probably gotten that girl killed, if she was luck seriously injured. Shotokan-kez
I actually found that quite amusing As did other people in the audience, surely after all those attacks those two men should have been dead!! I did like some of her moves though, but i'm not sure it would attract females to ma. It reminded me of a sketch out of a comedy show. Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
bushido_man96
Wow!!! That was three seconds of terrible self defense followed by 3 minutes and 5 seconds of, "when will it stop?!"I am surprised you watched the whole 3:05! I just watched the first 30 seconds. I couldn't do much more after that.I felt that it was unrealistic. Some of the technique was ok, but not much of it was realisitic self-defense. I don't mind flashy demos, but this one could have been prepared a little better. It was obvious that the woman could not have overpowered either of the men in the fashion that was being demonstrated.Showing off flashy techniques is great if you have it set up in a sparring situation, between two uniformed practitioners. However, in that case, I would have used more common self-defense techniques, and it would only have lasted 30 seconds to a minute. As far as this demonstration being effective; well, that depends on the goal. If you want people to see that women can do MA, then sure, she showed that she could do it. It sounded like the crowd was entertained, at least. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
ps1
Wow!!! That was three seconds of terrible self defense followed by 3 minutes and 5 seconds of, "when will it stop?!"I am surprised you watched the whole 3:05! I just watched the first 30 seconds. I couldn't do much more after that. For the record...it's 3:08. Basically three seconds of laughing and 3:05 of crying at a less than standard performance. I don't mean to be so negative about it. But if I had never seen martial arts before...this would not make me want to do it. Most of the fancy techniques are poorly executed and are about two feet away from the opponent. The opponents seem to stop attacking for no reason. Many of the techniques she uses clearly don't work and just leave you wonering, "why did that guy stop hitting her?" As mentioned above. If you're going to have a fancy performance, it needs to be practiced until near perfect. Otherwise, it looks like that video! I find that many people are just as impressed with techniques that aren't fancy and are easy to perform. "It is impossible to make anything foolproof because fools are so ingenius." username8517
You know, it just dawned on me Maybe the girl in this video was not out to actually make a self-defense video, but rather make an audition tape for whenever MTV feels the need to bring back "Final Fu"

Orion
Well, it got a laugh anyway. I thought the idea of self defence would be to subdue the attacker with one or two moves not 3 minutes later. Oh and that big bloke could have just sat on her. Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do.
