Truestar Posted November 7, 2006 Author Posted November 7, 2006 Friday. I am more excited, every time my instructor says "Just try hard." I get a small morale boost. I can't wait.I'm really weak in the pull ups category, which is the one where I'm extremely worried about. I hope one thing doesn't determine if I pass or fail. This is my first major test so I wouldn't know.
Truestar Posted November 8, 2006 Author Posted November 8, 2006 Well, I'm not too worried about the hanging anymore, yesterday I tried it off the record and got 30 seconds without trying. I'm sure I would be able to hang for 2 minutes, however I am still waiting for my little fear of pull ups.
cathal Posted November 10, 2006 Posted November 10, 2006 Hey that's good - what do you need to do in order to grade? .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
Truestar Posted November 10, 2006 Author Posted November 10, 2006 It's mainly physical stuff form what I've heard. Here's the best I can compile:BreathingFormPush upsSit upsHangingPull upsBreaking (;.Self defense (yay....)SparringEverything to test me physically and some form and technique. I start in 3 hours and thirty minutes. Day 1, out of 13.
Truestar Posted November 11, 2006 Author Posted November 11, 2006 Day one was certainly tough. I'm not used to that kind of workout. But hey, they keep telling me day five will be better. My good areas were form, contact, and speed. My tough areas were self defense. We did scissor takedowns and hip throws. I have to get over the initial impact as I've only done these before once. Day two starts in less than two hours. I'll need to poor it all out again after seeing myself walk this morning.

Truestar Posted November 12, 2006 Author Posted November 12, 2006 Day three, and it's only getting tougher. However I've greatly improved on my take downs and the fear of being taken down.
