Highlight Video

Recommended Posts

I just took my nidan test, here's a video I made the same day as the test.

The second kick wasn't that hard, I was just dizzy from the first and tired from doing kumite for a long time. I tried to tell everyone I was fine and just needed a moment, but the doctor there said I had a concussion and told my parents to take me to the emergency room.

I got off pretty light compared to the other people:

One of our guys is walking with a cane, one messed up his already injured shoulder, a girl had her nose broken (and she didn't even say anything- that's tough) and one of the guys got a bloody nose. And of course, everyone's a bit bruised.

did you go from a junior black to a nidan?

yes, I failed the jr nidan test, so they told me to wait until I was old enough to test for the real nidan.

Just chalk it up as a learning experience. Keep practicing, and continue to work hard, and you will get there in time.

I'm glad I failed- it was a good experience.

I realized I wasn't in good shape and needed more practice.

I passed the real nidan test by the way.

You did do fine, the person who kicked you seemed to lack some control. No offence intended.
