NY_Karatedork Posted August 23, 2008 Posted August 23, 2008 Clash I get the same reaction from people when they drink and I don't. I've tried beer/wine/rum when I was out with friends and it just isn't my cup of tea. Just don't like the taste of alcohol. I prefer soda, water, juice. I have ninja monkies in my brain and they are using it as a trampaline.
bushido_man96 Posted August 25, 2008 Posted August 25, 2008 I like a beer now and then. Maybe a mixed drink. I just don't like to get hammered. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

el-peligroso Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 I find that I have a pretty good workout the day after drinking a few pints of Guiness If you make a mistake, learn to live with it - your parents did.
LLLEARNER Posted October 18, 2016 Posted October 18, 2016 Mmmm. Guinness. "Those who know don't talk. Those who talk don't know." ~ Lao-tzu, Tao Te Ching"Walk a single path, becoming neither cocky with victory nor broken with defeat, without forgetting caution when all is quiet or becoming frightened when danger threatens." ~ Jigaro Kano
Alan Armstrong Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 Being honest and reflective is a positive approach to understanding oneself. Here are a few questions to ponder on; an answer isn't necessary, sometimes asking the questions can be just as important as the answers.Does alcohol make you aggressive?Does alcohol help to relax you?Does alcohol increase your pain threshold?Does alcohol lower your inhibitions?Does alcohol increase your bravery?Does alcohol improve your performance?Does alcohol make you stronger? In martial art circles, the question of alcohol must have been floating around for centuries.Alcohol can (on occasion) help a person float and can also (consequently) sink a person.Being in control of oneself 100% with or without alcohol 100% of the time is advisable; especially martial artists.Having lose of control of only 1% due to alcohol is gambling with your own life and perhaps this could effect others lives also.Drinking alcohol responsibly is fine, it's the very small minority that abuse alcohol that gives this subject a bad name.
mushybees Posted April 29, 2017 Posted April 29, 2017 I don't drink at all between February and August. August to feb is football season so I drink 4-5 bottles of lager on most sundays.I haven't been really drunk in about 10 years though. I get a little bit tipsy then stop.
Alan Armstrong Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 Beer Yoga. Invented in Germany, is popular in Thailand and Australia. The idea is simple, to drink beer while in Yoga poses. The possibilities are endless mixing alcohol with Yoga.Wine tasting Yoga.Whisky twisting Yoga.Wins and Cheese Yoga parties. This Yoga mix must seem funny to some and insulting to others.Beer boxing has been a popular pastime for hundreds of years, beer yoga seems like a more peaceful alternative, to me.
Lupin1 Posted May 2, 2017 Posted May 2, 2017 I'm not a big drinker, but I'll have a drink after work or at a restaurant (I'm sipping a spiked seltzer as I type this, actually) and I'll usually polish off a bottle of wine over the course of the day on holidays.I'm not an aggressive/loud/confrontational person at all, and alcohol doesn't give me any of those traits. Sometimes I'll get more talkative when I've been drinking, but mostly I just relax. My bf doesn't drink at all (he carries daily and so has the responsibility to be 100% in control at all times, but he also just doesn't like drinking), so I have a built in DD when I'm with him. If I'm not with him, I will not drive if I've had anything to drink. Not even one.
Spartacus Maximus Posted May 8, 2017 Posted May 8, 2017 Basic beer rule of thumb is never before training or between training. Saving it for afterwards makes it taste that much better.
