in my club we are not so traditional. we teach traditional shotokan and kickboxing but our gi's can be the usual traditional white gi for kyu grades or a kickboxing plian white gi, then for dan grades the same kickboxing style gi but with black trims.

It's all white for me too, good for training in the sun light. I wear my black one when training out at night on my own.

Plain white for me. You're wearing it for training, not to look good.

I started wearing a black gi as soon as I was allowed to. Not for looks, for practicality. White ones just show dirt and become stained too easily, at 150-200 bucks a pop it just stinks to have to replace them so often. I still wear my white one occasisionally, but mostly black. I don't mix and match though, because I'm really not trying to make a fashion statement, but I don't fault others for mixing and matching either.

Me personally, I like the traditional white gi with a small club/association patch on your left part of the chest.
