Brandon Fisher Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Ok, I asked him. He just gave me another place that was hiring ... gggrrrrr. I'm so frustrated!BUT my honey came up with an idea. He is 1st dan, and he is willing to train me/teach me stuff for now. But it's the old system that I was in prior to ITF. But I remember most of it, so it's better than nothing. This way, I can keep training.Again this is not the type of instructor I would want. I hope you find something quickly. I hate hearing someone is out of work. Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do

I hate hearing someone is out of work.i wouldn't go back either, last night i was guest in a dojo and after class one of the students came and said "i know i am 3 months behind , but i am working on it to pay you" sensei said "no problem" and it was so natural to me.i hope you find a better job with a better pay soon.
Brandon Fisher Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Yep its one thing if there is a good reason vs someone who just doesn't pay up when its due. I like hearing stories like this on P.A.L. mentioned. Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do

It will at least keep you in shape until you get back on your feet. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
jaymac Posted October 4, 2006 Posted October 4, 2006 It really is a sad situation, because most instructors would hate to lose their students, especially ones who have been there awhile. I mean there will always be turnover when running a dojo, but to lose a student this way-------> sad. Most instructors would find a way to assist. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
Jiffy Posted October 5, 2006 Posted October 5, 2006 You obviously have internet access, start searching. Plenty of google searches, I'm sure you should be able to find a whole syllabus somewhere. Get hold of Limewire or similar program and see if you can download some videos. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Chris05 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 It's seems to me that your instructer is just concerned with making money. You seem dedicated and it's a shame that your instructer is willing to let a temporaty money problem hinder with your martial arts experinece. If i were you i would not go back there and advise others the same. He's not running a dojo just stricly a business.
Chris05 Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 By the way what is the name of that school? and were is it located?
karatekid1975 Posted October 14, 2006 Author Posted October 14, 2006 Chris, your right. I'm not going back. I'm looking around at other places. I did get a job .... well, it's a job that I had one day a week. My boss offered to give me full time (or close to it). It's 5 minutes from my house, so I took her offer. If something better comes along, I'll take it. But for now, I have something. Now, back to hunting for a place to train. Laurie F
