masterintraining Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 dang u got ur work cut out for u, i have my brown belt tst soon to, i have perform, 10 different kick techniques. ( kicks 21-30) and he might call out passed kicks, to see if i still remember, them. and then after that i will ahve to sparr with eather, sifu, the asstant instructor or the strongest student in are class who is a brown belt, dragon patch ( we go by a animal patches and tassle system witch u attach to ur belts aswell as gett belts, when we test.) i thought i a had it ruff, u kyokushin guys dont play. you must learn different combinations of techniques down to your very soul and they must come without thinking when you finish with one technique, you must immediately go into another until you have attained your goal which is to destroy the enemy.
Shotokan-kez Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 You really do have your work cut..well both of you do don't you. Keep training hard and good luck! Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
RichardHangHong Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Wow! Looks like you've got some test coming up eh?Not really sure I can help with advice on the controlled sparring as kyokushin is full contact and I train in non-contact. Only advice I can give is follow the do's and don'ts for kumite, whatever they may be. Perhaps you could share a little light on that subject for us... Rick_72 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Have fun with it. Controlled sparring is just that. No one's supposed to get hurt. Your just demonstrating good technique at about 30-50% power. It can be tough, because generating enough speed to actually land technique's while putting strong controls on your power takes practice. I'm sure the black belts you fight will probably be very controlled.
bushido_man96 Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 Good luck at testing! Just watch your distance in the controlled sparring. Throw your techniques with good speed, and pull them short if you have to. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
P.A.L Posted September 19, 2006 Posted September 19, 2006 i am pretty sure you know all of these just as reminderpick up a target for your punch and just hit the same spot over and over work on kicking under mawashi gery and following take down, it 's a usefull technique in kyokushin
Dresden Posted September 22, 2006 Posted September 22, 2006 Good luck on your test.Train in EVERY class as though you were testing then on the day of the test its just another class.
