JoeDeezy Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 He taught a class last night for 2.5 hours at my school. Pretty cool stuff. Learned a lot. Knuckles were huge, you get that from hitting things all the time? He's very fast too, made the black belts at my school look slow.
hawkfish Posted September 14, 2006 Posted September 14, 2006 That sounds really cool. Is he in his late 50's? DougShodan, Shotokan Karate & 1st Kyu, IaidoShotokanMaster.comShotokanPlanet.org
bushido_man96 Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 Wow, that is cool! I think he is around 60! He is still an animal, too. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
jaymac Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 What an honor that must have been for everyone involved. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
Shotokan-kez Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 I have never heard of him, but he sounds like a really good and well respected guy. Who exactly is he? Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk

Brandon Fisher Posted September 15, 2006 Posted September 15, 2006 What a treat I am sure. I have trained with Bill Wallace twice a total of 8 hours and he just amazed me so I can relate a little. Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do
bat in a birdless village Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 I have never heard of him, but he sounds like a really good and well respected guy. Who exactly is he?I am not being rude, but being in karate and never having heard of Joe Lewis is like being a rock and roll fan and never hearing of Elvis Presley.Joe Lewis, Bill Wallace, Mike Stone, and Chuck Norris were the greatest karate players from the first generation of martial artists in the US. Joe Lewis and Bill Wallace continue being the two most influential living karate people (Chuck Norris could be considered that as well, but he focused more on acting until recently). You badly need to read more about Joe Lewis.bat Being a shodan is about learning what you DON'T know about what you know.
Shotokan-kez Posted September 16, 2006 Posted September 16, 2006 Wow thats pretty cool. It's crazy the way he managed to get his black belt within 7 months when it would be normally between 3-4 years. He sounds a pretty cool guy and obviously an amazing fighter.I know you wern't being rude bat but just because i'm in karate doesn't mean i need to read about world wide karate hero's, amazing or not. Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
