wolfen
stretch your quads and hamstrings like a madman. There isn't really anything else to it.
bushido_man96
Do your normal stretching routine, and then finish with roll-overs: you sit back into your split position, and stretch your legs as far as possible--then, you grunt, and pull yourself over into the stretch, and then all the way forward. Keep your body low to the ground the whole time, and then push your hips back, while keeping your chest on the ground, and then roll back to the seated position.Hard to explain, maybe I can find a site that shows it. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
Tef
This is pretty intense, but i have been trying to do the inch-a-day regiment that i do at my dojo. It's self-explanitory. You basically do the splits once or twice a day, pushing you self to the limit every time. Then hold it for about 3-5 minutes. Do this every day and you splits will come. It's like becoming enlightened, it won't come one great day when you just wake up and sink down into full or inverted splits, you have to have patience, unless you're dying, you've got a lot of time. My amaut'a (sensei) said it takes about 3 months at most for a person who has no stretching capability. Destined To Bring Light
Fosgate
I can almost do sidesplits, but for some reason I have no clue what kind of exercises to do... in order to learn the frontsplits. Can some1 give me any advice please?I second the hamstring stretching suggestion. I would also recommend, when performing splits, always keep your back as straight as you can, arch backward if possible, and tilt your pelvis forward. TANG SOO! I'm not as good at front splits as the russians but I can go down to the floor with my russian splits. To get better just do as Tef says, practice to your limit and it will slowely increase. Good luck! External training without the training of the mind is nothing
