Who knows this kata?

I don't know this style or kata.

I do shotokan.

But he is fast, I admit that.

1- his shuto is too low

2- he did those 4 reverse punches slightly wrong.

i didn't check the rest of the kata. this is a example of messing the techniques in order to doing it very fast.

Hey Plasma, I'm purple too and trying to learn this one.

So far I'm only practicing the first two slow hand moves over and over and over. Is there anything in particular I should be focusing on while doing this to make it look nicer? I'd like to see video of women doing it so I could have somebody to emulate.

You say you're learning Unsu and you're just a Purple belt. Funny and/or cool depending on who asks. The JKA syllabus has Unsu as a Yondan level Kata.

On our club website there is a video of my instructor performing this kata, yes i'm biased but he is awesome. The thing i find most difficult with this kata is the jump, our sensei likes us to try to kick our hand!

Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk

Hey Sensei8, yeah, I'm just a purple and learning Unsu. I think my Sensei likes to challenge us. I love Unsu, but it also breaks my heart because I don't like to fail. People on this board are helping me do the big jump in another forum. This site rocks!

Well, Unsu is diffently a challange for a Purple belt, that's to be certain. Stay with it [unsu] and be positive on this big jump.

You'll be fine!

That's actually not a bad example of Unsu. He has pretty good technique, he was a little short on some of the techniques, and lacking a little continuity due to his breathing timing getting off, but he did a great job just the same. It is definately not an easy kata to perform - especially in competition when you are all hyped up and so forth....
