August 28, 200619 yr This sounds so much fun. It's a shame there isn't anywhere like that round here. The martial arts scene isn't exactly huge in north east England The best armour is to keep out of range.
August 28, 200619 yr In the words of Mr. Miyagi (from KK)"If done properly, no can defence"At the time at which they were popular, they were the only real projectile weapon thus giving a majorly long range. It was also easy for just about anyone to pick up and throw with minimal training. In today's environment though, obviously, it's a little less useful. The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.

Used like a conventional bo or used at close range with a stabbing motion... or, used to throw for long range.You never watched a cowboys and indians movie??
