A_Munk3y Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 well.. i started a daily program a while backtell me if its good or not too good.. and if im not doing right cause someone said too much would stop being benefitialanywayi started this specific workout about a week agoi do 1000 situps daily and 300 pushups.. throughout the while dayi do 50 situps every 10 minutes and 20 pushups every 10 minutes till i reach each one..then i stopim not worried about cardio or upper body being stronger than lower caisei play soccer for my school so i run every day and do excersizes and drills for 2 hours every weekday and sometimes saturday with my team.. i also play tennis( for fun with my brother).. so my cardio is really good.but as for overloading.. idont think i amive been doing pushups forever and ive built up to these amountssame for situps so i gradually got to 1000 and 300..i started with 75 pushups and 200 situps and worked my way up over several months, so im not worried about overloadbut someone toldme that by doing situps and pushups that much its not beneficial cause its only make those muscles stronger andnot the surrounding musclesso i want your opinion on what i should dothanks
bushido_man96 Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 Doesn't sound too bad, you should be in pretty good shape. You could at a weight lifting schedule in to make for the other muscle groups, if you feel the need. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
A_Munk3y Posted August 19, 2006 Author Posted August 19, 2006 i was thinking about that, but i really do nt like weight lifting...i might try it tho..i always liked just using my own weight..
lordtariel Posted August 19, 2006 Posted August 19, 2006 You may already do this, but you may want to vary the types of situps you do to work the different abdominal muscles. Having a strong core is always a good thing. I was also told recently that where you place your hands while doing pushups will change the muscle groups you're working. I wish I had the time and dedication to do that many every day. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
A_Munk3y Posted August 19, 2006 Author Posted August 19, 2006 actually i just did normal situps but now that you mentioned itill try to vary different kinds of situps thanks
Zorbasan Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 just going on your sums there at 50 situps per 10 minutes and 20 push ups in 10 minutes it will take you nearly 6 hours to complete your routine, plus you have school, soccer, tennis and MA training as well?do you sleep? Now you use head for something other than target.
A_Munk3y Posted August 21, 2006 Author Posted August 21, 2006 i dont do MA.. kinda weird why im no this site ^^and ill be back from school, and after school soccer at 4:15.. 4:30i play tennis but doesnt mean every dayand it only takes me about 3.5---4 hoursi dont know if u can multiply or not....50 situps every 10 minutes50x6 = 300 in an hour 300x3.33333= 100so thats 3 hours and 3/10 of an hourand situps 20 every 10 min.. so 20x6= 120 an hour120x3= 360 so thats not even 3 hours to get 300do you think i do situps then pushups to make it 6 hours?i do them at the same timeso its about 3.5--4 cause of the time spent doing the excersizeso b4 and after school i have about 7-8 hours.....yes i do sleep.. yes i have a life
Zorbasan Posted August 21, 2006 Posted August 21, 2006 how can you do sit ups and push ups at the same time?1000/50 = 20 * 10 mins = 200 mins300 / 20 = 15 * 10 minutes = 150 minutes= 350 minutes totalunless what you were saying that is in 10 minutes you do both 50 sit ups and 20 pushups, in which case yeh it would be about 3 hours. was just a bit hard to see how you was doing all that every day thats all. Now you use head for something other than target.
A_Munk3y Posted August 21, 2006 Author Posted August 21, 2006 yes.. thats why im doingi can see what you mean by its hard to really understand how i do itbut i really have nothing to do really most of the time when im home
scottnshelly Posted August 22, 2006 Posted August 22, 2006 I agree about varying the type of situp. This also applies to pushups. I can think of at least 13 different ways to do pushups. I know there are more, but here's the ones that I pulled off of the top of my head:1)Regular2)Close grip (make a triangle with your forefingers and thumbs in front of your chest)3)Wide grip (wider than regular)4)Feet elevated (put your feet in a chair)5)Inverted (upside down against a wall)6)Backwards (face up)7)Knuckle8)Fingerprints9)Fingertips10)Two knuckles11)Clapping (clap your hands together on the up-stroke)12)Superman (hands further out, above your head)13)Opposite of Superman (hands closer to your waist than normal)
