Myth Posted August 12, 2006 Posted August 12, 2006 I agree! This is one of the best things I've ever been in. I'm healthier, more alert, more focused, more active...it's fantastic. Same here! Though only in for a year or 2.. love it! Green belt Tang Soo Do. And I love it!
jaymac Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 It's funny how many of us say "it's the best thing I have ever done for myself." When I am trying to convince a friend to try MA, that is what I tell them. Usually, it isn't long after they are there, that they too have been bitten by the MA bug and feel exactly the same way. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
Jiffy Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 The hardest part is getting the in the door. Then once they are there, most people get bitten by the bug! The mind is like a parachute, it only works when it's open.
Zorbasan Posted August 16, 2006 Posted August 16, 2006 i lot of people have misconceptions about the MA.i remember 1 guys dad saying he wouldnt let his son do it cos he is against violence.i thought what a load of crap, but couldnt convince him otherwise.once you get people in they will fit into 3 categories. 1 they will love it and it will become a part of them2 they will think its not for them and leave3 they will do it for a while, not practise outside the dojo and leave in 6 - 12 months. Now you use head for something other than target.
