Aodhan Posted July 24, 2006 Posted July 24, 2006 When I attempt shoulder push-ups, I feel my face turning beet red.Breathe. AodhanWhen you do them, do you look down at the floor, or towards a wall or something else?Depends. If I am doing them free standing (No wall support), then I am looking at the floor. Makes them incredibly hard. If I am leaning against the wall, then I'm looking at the floor out in front of me a ways (About 1/2 way across the room.)Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
bushido_man96 Posted August 7, 2006 Author Posted August 7, 2006 Ok, Aodhan, I found a substitute for the one leg squat:Set on a chair.Extend one leg.Stand up.Sit down. Not a full one-leg squat, but I can feel it, and it will help me build up to it eventually. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com

MizuRyu Posted August 15, 2006 Posted August 15, 2006 For explosive leg power I always did jumping Hindu squats. Get in a squat position, extend your arms straight in front of you, as you squat down you want your fingertips to touch the ground, then explode up as high as you can, hit the ground and do it again as quick as possible. That stuff kills real bad... "They look up, without realizing they're standing in the palm of your hand""I burn alive to keep you warm"

But, if I get down too far, I will have to pull myself up with my arms. https://www.haysgym.comhttp://www.sunyis.com/https://www.aikidoofnorthwestkansas.com
