Good leg work here!

Recommended Posts

When I attempt shoulder push-ups, I feel my face turning beet red.

Breathe. :D

When you do them, do you look down at the floor, or towards a wall or something else?

Depends. If I am doing them free standing (No wall support), then I am looking at the floor. Makes them incredibly hard. If I am leaning against the wall, then I'm looking at the floor out in front of me a ways (About 1/2 way across the room.)

Ok, Aodhan, I found a substitute for the one leg squat:

Set on a chair.

Extend one leg.

Stand up.

Sit down.

Not a full one-leg squat, but I can feel it, and it will help me build up to it eventually.

or instead you can simply hold onto something for balance. that way you can continue to go down - further than you can using a chair.

For explosive leg power I always did jumping Hindu squats. Get in a squat position, extend your arms straight in front of you, as you squat down you want your fingertips to touch the ground, then explode up as high as you can, hit the ground and do it again as quick as possible. That stuff kills real bad...

I guess that would work. But, if I get down too far, I will have to pull myself up with my arms.
