How Many Kata Does Your System Require...

Wow...that's crazy.

We have:

Short Form 1-3

Long Form 1-4

That's it. Well, aside from the 150 technique sequences.

Well- and some sets- if you want to include those.......Star Block (Blocking Set), Kicking Set, Finger Set.....and I had to make up my own Kata with my 10 techs that I made up for Black too.....are they still doing that?

If you were waiting for the opportune moment, that was it.

I was curious, who is your current grandmaster for Kobayashi Shorin-ryu? We have in our school's history notes Miyahara and Nagazato, but I suspect this may not be valid, and I am trying to make some updates.

Miyahira is the former head of style. He stepped down(last year? early this year?) and was replaced by Ishikawa(sp....I'll reference it somtime).

Sohan, your school's history does correctly denote Miyahira and Nagazato. My school followed Katsuya Miyahira, who has now retired, and now the current head of style is Seitoku Ishikawa.
