Kieran-Lilith
I usually get some quote from the movie Napoleon Dynamite, which makes sense because I'm in a high school that fell in love with that movie."Bow to your Sensei!" is probably the one I hear the most. I look at them, though, and I tell them I'm confused, my Sensei is at his job, not in front of me. Tef
What i find really strange and even a bit crazy is when someone sees a technique or move from a random movie and is actually able to pull it off. My friend saw a reverse spinning roundhouse kick and actually hit me with it. I wasn't surprised that i got hit, but at the fact that he took time to learn this Jean Claude Van Damme kick. P.S. i scraped him later in our sparring session. Destined To Bring Light
baronbvp
My favorite: "You do karate?" "yeah""cool, show me some" Usually at work mind you. So, I say are you ready for lesson one? They say yes, and I walk away.Awesome! I'm stealing that one.I've also heard: "What do you think of (fill in celebrity martial artist here)?"Or my favorite: "Free your mind, Neo." Only as good as I make myself be, only as bad as I let myself be.Martial arts are like kinetic chess. Your move.

DWx
"Can you break a board/brick?"If you say "no" they think you're really bad at MA, if you say "yes" they'll never forget and whenever you get into the slightest disagreement with someone, all you hear in the background is "Don't mess with ___, s/he can break a brick!" AikiGuy
(wearing ones black belt)"Are you a black belt?"lol. This has happened to me so many times, and it is annoying. Paranoia is not a fault. It is clarity of the world around us.
YoungMan
I've been at work, in work clothes, doing my job, when someone asks me if I work there. I have to look at them for a few seconds because I cannot believe someone could be that clueless.I have also been in uniform, with (black) belt tied around my waist, when someone (usually a kid) asks me what rank I am.
