i was talking to my sensei and he said something about haveing to pay £350 so you can do your gradeing for it!!! is this true or was he just haveing a laugh.

Some schools do these things. We have to pay $150, but that is only to cover the new uniform (costs around 80 bucks), testingcost (wood, etc.), and a belt with your name embroidered in it.

Many schools start at around $100.00 bucks for 1st dan testing and continues on up as you move up in rank.

i believe it's possible. but it would probably differ through each school/dojo. i know that here, you have to pay big bucks for the belt (after you passed the test) since it's ordered from japan.

We charge 100.00 for Dan tests as well but we buy the belt with you name and out school name embroidered on it.

wow thats quite expencive. but i think its worth it. do the prices go up for the dan? if it does i think ill start saveing now!

£350? Sounds like a McDojo to me.

Really that is not high. Considering you get a belt. We only charge 15.00 for other Kuy tests whcih we also give a color belt for. So really 10.00.

 

All our Dan tests are 100.00

you would have to blame the west money making schemes and they do work don't they clowns ?

Some ITF, WTF regulations require a hefty fee to test for the black belt. My school is 250 bucks I believe.

 

I figure that TKD has around 5000 black belts in the world (According to ITF). That is a pretty elite force of people.
