Orion
I was just wondering what cardio exercises I could do. Unfortunately I cannot run anymore, due to getting severe pains in my legs. I try cycling and walking but any other ideas would be greatly appreciated as I'm getting a little bored of doing just these. Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do. Samuel
You could try joining your local gym and try doing some rowing, or try skipping or stepping, xtraining...I assume your already in a gym though? Since cycling and walking in a gym do get very very boring after about 10min of starting.I dont tend to do much cardio though, but 1000m on the rower is my warm up, that usually keeps me intrested since I can vary the intensitys (Like, Racing myself to get to 500m faster, or going all out every other 10 seconds)Although 1000m only takes me about 2min40 these days. Sohan
I've found that two hours of kata without breaks has it's cardiovascular benefits. Another idea is to get a pair of fins and head for the pool. Practice kicking on your back and your stomach for up to a mile or so, broken up into intervals. I love the feeling of moving quickly through the water and never find it boring. You could also try inline skating too. If you have a good paved area where you can go for a while without stopping you may find this a good cardio workout. It also strengthens your knees and ankles and helps improve your balance. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." Orion
Thanks guys thats given me some ideas, I like the idea of rowing used to love that when I was younger. I'm not actually a member of the gym, I do my workouts at home.I will give the katas ago Sohan but I don't know that many to do for 2 hours so I might end up only doing it for an hour. Don't really have anywhere to go staking where I live unless they do a pair of cross country skates. Knowing is not enough, we must apply. Willing is not enough, we must do. Aodhan
I will give the katas ago Sohan but I don't know that many to do for 2 hours so I might end up only doing it for an hour. You can also vary the WAY you do the katas. If you do it with each move being a slow, 5 second tension move, you can really get a good workout from it. Also, you can do them fast, do them with a ton of force in each move (Picture breaking a board with every move), things of that nature. There are 100 different ways to do kata that will give you an awesome workout and a great change of pace.Aodhan There are some people who live in a dream world, and there are some who face reality; and then there are those who turn one into the other.-Douglas Everett, American hockey player
