getawaytkd
I saw a video of Jet li performing a wu shu form in 1978, he was performing it pretty well, now my question is, if he has been training since then, is he a master in Wu Shu?
Toby
He's been doing Wu shu since he was 8...So I suspect he'd be a master by now. "The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering." - Bruce Lee
UseoForce
Just to head off anybody...let's not turn this thread into a debate of what consitutes a "master." I think we've all seen that enough . What I've seen of Li is pretty awesome. I'd like to see him fight MMA style or something though, instead of just movie scenes. If it works, use it!If not, throw it out! Jersey Devil
Let Jet Li stay in movies and kung fu competition where he belongs. He is far from being even a decent MMA fighter- he knows it and acknowleges it, which is one of the reasons I particularly like him. cathal
I saw an interview of Jet Li after he did a movie with DMX where he indicated all the other fighters in the film could beat him up. He indicated he felt he was a good Hollywood martial artist, and not a particularly good fighter. .The best victory is when the opponent surrendersof its own accord before there are any actualhostilities...It is best to win without fighting.- Sun-tzu
WudangDragon
I think I saw that interview as well. . . . I think that this is just modesty as I saw a video of him sparring/training from about 1999/2001 and he was really good. . . . He is deffinatly a great martial artist and actor. . . not sure about a master though "We follow the World,The World follows Heaven,Heaven follows Tao,Tao follows the way things are."
