Is there a proper name for a kung fu uniform?

Recommended Posts

Japanese = Gi = Kimono

Chinese = Xunlian Fu

Makes sense to me...well, figuratively. I don't speak either language...but...you get the picture. Thanks!

Hello,

We removed a post from this thread in error and I apologize for the confusion. It is below. Thanks.

I have no idea what Xunlian Fu is supposed to be and this is coming from someone who does speak chinese. And since when was a gi the same as a kimono?

Ya... I wear Work-out pants and a T-Shirt. Dress isn't important to me, unless it's a demo or something of the sort.

Thanks all for your posts...and I guess we've pretty much come to a concensus that Xunlian Fu is...incorrect. :D

BUT!!! It looks cool.... And thats the important thing right? That everyone thinks we look cool?

(kidding)

I wouldn't like training in shorts or a t-shirt though...I don't know why, I guess it's a karate background hampering me, I always liked the way the uniform snaps when you do a technique. Plus I hate seeing what my legs look like when I kick.
