Shotokan-kez Posted June 3, 2006 Posted June 3, 2006 Years ago i visited a martial arts store in Manchester, i was in awe in there i loved it. It sold equipment, clothing, books, ect. I took a trip to Manchester yesterday with my son and i couldn't find it! I did end up in one martial arts store near Picadilly gardens but that wasn't the one i meant and it was tacky and small, so this has left me feeling rather frustrated because i know there was another one.So then.....i think it was called Lee's martial arts (But not certain), and at the end of Portland Street past Picadilly. Does anybody know it? I will keep looking but it's a long trip into Manchester from where i live. I bet i just dreamt it lol....no really i did go in it!!Can anybody help? I have tried google but nothing came up! Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
aefibird Posted June 4, 2006 Posted June 4, 2006 Sorry, I've not heard of it. There's not many MA businesses in the UK that actually have "shops" nowadays - most retailers seem to just trade online now. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." Shotokan-kez Posted June 4, 2006 Author Posted June 4, 2006 Yeah thats true aefibird, such a shame really because even though i don't have much choice but to buy on line i so much prefer to go into a shop and look what they have. If i had money i would open a martial arts store!! Walk away and your always a winner. https://www.shikata-shotokan.co.uk
jaymac Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 Too bad, sounds like a cool store, but you think you have a long trip, I would love to see that store, but I live in N.Y. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
KarateK Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 I find it impossible to find a store other than the chains that stock MA gear - completely agree, have to order everything on line grrr Karate Ni Sentinashi
aefibird Posted June 6, 2006 Posted June 6, 2006 I only know of a couple of actual martial arts shops in the UK. I'm lucky, because there's one in Doncaster, near where I live. There's also one in Cleethorpes. I think that Blitz (the online retailers) also have their own store. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..."
