Taokara Posted April 23, 2002 Posted April 23, 2002 Hey all , do you guys have any idea what the requirements for a Grand Master is? I am training for myself not anyone else.. to be the best I can be in everything.
Eric-TKD Posted April 23, 2002 Posted April 23, 2002 I would imagine the requirements are different for different martials arts...but generally speaking, you must hold a very high blackbelt to be a Grand Master. Current Belt: Blue belt - 4th GupCurrent Hyung: Toi-Gye Hyung
AnonymousOne Posted April 23, 2002 Posted April 23, 2002 There are no rules thats the sad part. In the olden days it was thought that 15-20 years training would set you at Master status. Sheesh I have been training for 28 years LOL I train for training not for outside approval. I think thats how it should be. 7th Dan ChidokaiA true combat warrior has to be hard as nails in mind, body and soul. Warriors are action takers and not action fakers. If you are cruising, make time for losing

EnvE Posted April 23, 2002 Posted April 23, 2002 You gotta be studying for a LONG time... Fighting over the internet is like special olympics...even if you win, you're still a *.
G95champ Posted April 23, 2002 Posted April 23, 2002 IMO the only Grandmaster is the oldest living person in a given style who is reconized by a international board. Sort of like the Pope and Biships. (General George S. Patton Jr.) "It's the unconquerable soul of man, and not the nature of the weapon he uses, that ensures victory."
EnvE Posted April 23, 2002 Posted April 23, 2002 Think about it...you can be a master at 5th...but not a GRAND master... Fighting over the internet is like special olympics...even if you win, you're still a *.
steveking63 Posted April 23, 2002 Posted April 23, 2002 Too many people call themselves masters today. Mainly to impress or for commercial benifits. A master would suggest someone who has mastered and learnt all there is to know. Does this person exist ? I think not. We are all eternal students and should never think we have ever learnt all there is to learn. Yet we are also all masters.
