Really want to improve your physical ability? Begin first by tuning your insides. Start by avoiding these two dangerous chemicals:

 

MSG(monosodium glutamate) &

 

Aspartame.

 

These two chemicals are deadly. Here are the web page links for information on both of them. Example: for aspartame one of the 92 FDA listed SIDE-EFFECTS is DEATH. Imagine that, DEATH a mere SIDE-EFFECT.

In short, MSG affects your nervous system. Affecting nerve synapse function. Want to help your reflexes avoid MSG.

 

Aspartame builds up in the system and NEVER leaves. You cannot remove what has been built up. But Aspartame makes you sick and drains your general health. A side effect being DEATH.

 

Also, it does no good to live a healthy lifestyle and continue to consume these two. Sort of negates the purpose.

Thanks very much for the warning. Luckily my dad has bad reactions to food with MGS in so we never buy anything with it. I tend to stay away from fruit squashes etc. which contain Aspartame also, but thanks very much.

 

I'll be more consciencious of this in the future. :smile:

I don't know the entire list or anything close to, but MSG is often found in crisps and other salted potato snacks, and Aspartame is an artificial sweetner found in diet fizzy drinks and squash drinks.

MSG is used worldwide as a flavor enhancer. The average person living in an industrialized country consumes about 0.3 to 1.0 gram of MSG per day. MSG is classified by the Food and Drug Administration as “generally recognized as safe.” Most clinical trials, including some double-blind trials, have failed to find any symptoms arising from consumption of MSG, even large amounts, when taken with food. However, clinical trials have found that MSG taken without food may cause symptoms. A large trial and a review of studies on MSG both suggested that large amounts of MSG given without food may elicit more symptoms than a placebo . However, persistent and serious effects from MSG consumption have not been consistently demonstrated.

 

MSG is found in some Chinese and Japanese food and is also contained in some flavor enhancers, such as Accent® and the Japanese seasoning AJI-NO-MOTO™. MSG may be difficult to avoid completely, as it also occurs in hydrolyzed vegetable protein, textured vegetable protein, gelatin, yeast extracts, calcium and sodium caseinate, vegetable broth, whey, smoke flavoring, malt extracts, and several other food ingredients—including “flavoring” and “natural flavoring”—without otherwise appearing on the label.

 

MSG sensitivity, also known as Chinese Restaurant Syndrome, is a set of symptoms that may occur in some people after they consume monosodium glutamate (MSG). Symptoms are ... numbness at the back of the neck radiating to both arms and the back, general weakness and palpitations. Although some Chinese (and other) restaurants now avoid the use of MSG, many still use significant amounts.

 

...and as for aspartame....it is produced from two amino acids, aspartic acid and phenylalanine... and is 180 times sweeter than sucrose. Although the FDA points to more than 100 scientific experiments that document the safety of aspartame, many consumers and scientists are not convinced that long-term daily intake of aspartame is completely safe, and are concerned about the growing number of foods that contain this ingredient. Aspartame intake is known to be dangerous for persons with phenylketonuria, a metabolic disorder that results in dangerously high blood levels of phenylalanine. In addition, aspartame is not recommended for use by pregnant or lactating women.

Hey KC, have you ever heard of better living through chemistry?? :razz: :razz: :razz:

 

If we we to panic over every chemical in our food, air and water, we would all be dead of starvation.

 

In milk.....Bovine growth hormone

 

Fresh fruit...pesticides

 

Fresh veggies.....Irradiated

 

chicken& turkeys....menadione and other hormones.

 

And the most healthy eating person on earth can get hit by a truck and die tommorrow (without eating all that tasty bad stuff).....

 

I vote for moderation somthing will kill us eitherway........

Hmm....obviously harnessing the full potential of the body is not on your To-DO LIST.

 

Anyone can get hit by a truck the next and die, so what? Why not live each day that way you want it? I choose to forge my body as strong as I can. If I get hit by truck then OH WELL, at least I have lived the dedicated life I have chosen.

 

When people cry that, "You could get hit by a truck" crap it is a clear indication of weak self-discipline. A justification to avoid the sacrifice necessary for improvement. Something will kill either way...lame excuse.

 

You know it doesn't matter if you want to make the sacrifice and live the healthy lifestyle. That's your choice. You may get hit by a truck tomorrow and then it wouldn't matter. I however choose to forge the body I have into the machine necessary to perform the tasks I ask of it.

sure it costs more, harder to find, but what kind of sacrifice are you willing to make to improve your physique. The more TOXINS you put in your body through improper health habits the less efficient your body can perform. this translates directly into MA ability.

 

I don't see how you can claim to be a martial artist and not choose to live a healthy lifestyle. Of course, it all boils down to why you study the martial arts.

 

But in the end, we may all get hit by a truck tomorrow. So I'll just hole up in my house and pray trucks don't knock....

About MSG and ASPARTAME, the FDA also publicly lists side effects for both one of which listed is DEATH. A rare side effect of aspartame is death among other things. These are FDA listed side effects.

 

For MSG it affects the nervous system.

I copied this off the MSG web page. These are documented tests. YES there are tests out there that claim MSG is potentially harmless to most people. The truth of the issue remains MSG is a toxin to humans. In small amounts you may not notice the damage being done.

I believe its just some government conspiracy like the alien landing at Rosewell, or the JFK shooting, or why Mexican food always give me gas. We will never know the truth. But its out there.

 

Obviously, no one will knowingly put toxins into our bodies. And because such great atheletes in the past have display their great ability to the world shows how little this substance can effect the human body.
