I got invited to go to a Filipino martial arts camp in June by the people who put on a tournament I competed in last October. They said that it will involve single stick, double stick, knife fighting, two circle fighting, unarmed combat, etc. Anybody got some tips on what I should do to get ready? Thanx.

Stick fighting is cool.. well worth learning I reckon.

It takes sacrifice to be the best.

Hey Blade,

Let me know if you observe anyone that practices Kuntaw. I am thinking of cross training with that style if I can find the time, but I'd like an outside opinion on how they compare with other PMA before I commit myself (to another style, that is).

Alrighty. This is what the invitation says...

LEARN:

-Single Stick

-Double Stick

-Empty Hand

-Knife

-Dumog(grappling)

-Flow Drills

Then on the other side of the invitation it says....

*Modern Arnis

*Mano Y Daga

Hope some of that helped. *shrugs* lookin forward to any advice.

And Yoda, I immediately thought of you when I got the invitation, lol. So I got on the forums and posted as soon as possible.

Thanks.

Hey Blade,

Here's a web site of the Kuntaw class offered at a college near me. I posted this once before, but you might not have seen it. Check out the instructors personal web site at the top of the page by clicking on his name. Who knows, he might be there at the camp you are going to.
