shotokanwarrior Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 I was wondering if the good people here at karateforums could help he in giving advice on a good self defense dvd or video that would be good for women. I have martial arts training but instead of me teaching a whole art or picking out techniques, I am looking for something all ready in place, that I can review and teach my wife. Where Art ends, nature begins.
kchenault Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Wow, I am surprised no one has commented yet. Hopefully no one will say Tae Bo. I wish I had a good one to tell you. Come on those in the know, help a guy out!!!!! Ken ChenaultTFT - It does a body good!
Spirit At Choice Posted May 2, 2006 Posted May 2, 2006 Hey there. This is a subject that I've been very interested in. I can tell you the ones that most interest me, but I can not give you a review since I haven't moved on buying any yet. Rape Escape has three levels of instruction and is based on Brazillian Jiu Jitsu. $99.99 for all three DVDs, or purchase separately for $39.99 each. The Bao Way is a system designed by Bao Ngo, the Successor of Style in Cuong Nhu Oriental Martial Arts. You can see clips at the website. It uses scenarios to teach personal safety, aerobics routines to ingrain self-defense moves into muscle memory, and it also has suggestions for partner work. $49 for set of two DVDs. White belt mind. Black belt heart....Rejoice and be glad!
Smitty Posted May 3, 2006 Posted May 3, 2006 I've never tried that Krav Maga stuff, but I hear it's worth the money.
