Smitty Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Hello all.I was just wondering if someone could give me some calisthenics exercise for developing the traps. I'm leaving for Basic Training in 2 months and decided to just drop all weights and start doing my bodyweight exercises, but I'm still trying to look good. And I don't know any traps exercises(except a pull up which I think stresses the lower trap to some degree). Can anyone help out here?

Sohan Posted May 1, 2006 Posted May 1, 2006 Neck bridges will work. They train the upper and middle traps. Be careful, though, to build up slowly and don't overdo it.Basic in two months? Looking good is the least of your concerns. Being able to deal with being yelled at and experiencing deep tiredness most the time is more what you should prepare for. Geng Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Hand stand push ups. Some upside down yoga exercises. Which part of the traps are you looking for?
Smitty Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 Hand stand push ups. Some upside down yoga exercises. Which part of the traps are you looking for?Specifically, the upper and middle. I don't know any yoga, though, so many someone could help me out there.
Sohan Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 Be careful of overdeveloping your traps. It'll make your shoulders appear rounded and smaller if they are out of proportion. With respect,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth."
