Brandon Fisher Posted May 22, 2006 Posted May 22, 2006 The mistranslations are why I have taken such great care in making sure I got them professionally done and double and triple checked. Brandon FisherSeijitsu Shin Do
jaymac Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 Sohan, too follow up with schools that do not do what they say. Here is one my biggest pet peeves. Tae Bo. Don't get me wrong, I think Billy Blanks is a very good martial artist. In fact, I used to (several moons ago) attend tournaments (when tournaments were good) that he used to compete in. He was awesome. I think that his exercise program is also effective. My pet peeve is the infommercials. I have seen more women state on those infommercials "I love TaeBo and now I know I can defend myself." WHAT!! He isn't teaching anything close to self defense and he should be telling his students that. He is basically running a high impact aerobics class using MA movements and good for him. He is making millions showing people how to lose weight and exercise, but he is not teaching MA. A great martial artist is one who is humble and respectful of others.
Bushido58266 Posted May 23, 2006 Posted May 23, 2006 id probably incorporate a mixture of muay thai, tang soo do, jujutsu and aikidoand i would call it blutige Hand karateit means bloody hand karate. the reason for this is because i have trained in all these arts and found them to be a good mix plus it seems like every time i do muay thai training my hands bleed bad (we punch metal with bare knuckles) "Bushido is realized in the presence of death""TapouT or PassouT"
