Sohan
The boat oar thread got me thinking. What's the oddest weapon you've ever trained with? For me, it was, and I'm not kidding, a carrot. A seminar speaker, explaining the value of using ordinary household implements as weapons, produced from his bag a carrot, then in all seriousness attempted to show us the many benefits of utilizing a piece of produce as a weapon. We really thought it was a joke, initially, until we realized he was dead serious. It was rather difficult to keep a straight face until the end of the demonstration.I wonder if he was a big Monty Python fan. lordtariel
That's cool! I haven't really used anything crazy as an improvised weapon, mostly sticks and such, but my friend bought this steel reinforced 3 foot stuffed moose that was sturdy enough for someone to use it as a bench. He then got a video on using a bench as a weapon like in the jackie chan movies and is currently trying to learn moose-fu. GOM
Hehe...moose. I sometimes use my wife as a weapon. She is small enough to pick up and twirl around, so if we are in a self defense situation, I know I will be able to pick her up, and use her body as a shield and strike with her. She doesn't know it yet, but I do....

elbows_and_knees
The most unique non-weapons I've ever been shown to use are keys and credit cards. My favorite is a small, tactical flashlight.
