UseoForce Posted April 1, 2006 Posted April 1, 2006 I really need to loosen up my hips. It's hard to hold a knees-in-tight side control while maitaining my weight on my opponent with tight hips like I have. The problem is compounded by the fact that I have long legs, so when I draw them up, my weight tends to move off my opponent. How can I loosen my hips up? What are some good hip stretches? If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
granmasterchen Posted April 2, 2006 Posted April 2, 2006 i have found that for myself if i do ten stretch-like kicks (meaning that i don't snap and keep i keep the leg straight) of a forward straight up kick, a sideways kick keeping the foot sideways (not pointed toes up when the kick goes up) and finally inside-out crescent kicks. The inside out i refer to is started in a boxing like or fighting stance, bring the back leg up and make a circular movement starting by lifting the leg to the inside of your body and swinging it out to the outside of your body. I hope these help you out some. That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
