three60roundhouse Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 So...I went on a..well, not really a diet...it's more an urge to eat healthy, and I've been doing tons of abdominal excercises, and they DEFINITELY are tightening my tummy nicely . Anyway...I do have on annoying little problem! People say they have a "six pack" of abdominal muscles - I have a four pack! mY upper and middle stomach muscles are very toned, but then the ones below and at my belly button are NOT...it looks a little strange...does anyone have any good abdominal excercises for this particular area? Thanks A TON! 1st dan Tae Kwon DoYellow Belt Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu16 Years OldGirls kick butt!
CTpizzaboy Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 Strange, eh? Don't know about that one. I could, when I was younger, make a face out of the flab of my belly. If you're working your top, bottom and sides, you shouldn't be looking like the Michellin Man. There are some good post on situps. Read those. tigerstyle18 Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 Do leg lifts and also do crunches using ne of those infatable balls. When two tigers fight, one dies and the other is mortally wounded.
Bon Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 Heh, a six pack is basically a low body fat percentage so your abdominal muscles are visible. I don't think more crunches will help your cause, though, they'll definately toughen your abs. A six pack is made in the kitchen! You need to eat right and maybe lose a few lbs. Oh, just read your post again sorry. You want 6 abdominals muscles, giving you an 8 pack ?! LOTS of crunches, yeah.. It takes sacrifice to be the best. There are always two choices, two paths to take. One is easy. And its only reward is that it's easy.
tigerstyle18 Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 You're right though Bon, losing even more weight by eating right could further help to define the lower abdominals in addition to crunches. When two tigers fight, one dies and the other is mortally wounded.
rabid hamster Posted April 15, 2002 Posted April 15, 2002 Agh, well I have too much fat in my stomach so I have a two pack. Oh well, Hope this helps ya. Cya Hiya It is only with the heart that one can see clearly, for the most essential things are invisible to the eye.

jahred Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 if you're a ectomorph or meso-ectomorph, you'll probably be able to get a six-pack with just crunches over time.. if crunches aren't working to really define then, you have to decrease yo' body fat. common knowledge i'm sure, but just for anyone who isn't clear.
tigerstyle18 Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 yeah, I kinda agree, endomorphs see to have more trouble getting defined abdominals. However, especially as people get older, it becomes more difficult for anybody to get a 6 pack. The truth is that anyone can get a 6 pack. The question is whether it's visible beneath the fat. For those having trouble, concentrate just as hard if not more on high impact aerobic exercises like running as on crunches, leglifts, and the like. When two tigers fight, one dies and the other is mortally wounded.
Jack Posted April 16, 2002 Posted April 16, 2002 Do a search for the following exercises: Leg Lift Reverse Crunch Reverse Trunk Twist These are all pretty good at nailing the lower abdominals. Other than that, what everybody else has been saying, lose the fat. Best of luck. JackCurrently 'off' from formal MA trainingKarateForums.com
