UseoForce
I know it might sound like I'm whining, but heres the deal:At least 2 months ago, I was wrestling and one of my lower front teeth was accidently driven to my lower lip. It bled like heck for awhile, then swelled up. The swelling has gone down some, and the coloration of the area has gone from being a dark, blood filled red to the same coloration of the rest of my lip. However, the swelling on the inside of my lower lip remains (though it has gotten better). Is it just full of fluid that I should drain myself? ? If it works, use it!If not, throw it out! red dawn
I would highly recommend seeing a doctor before attempting to do anything yourself with it. It could be nothing serious but you could also have developed an infection. I never said it wasn't dangerous.
UseoForce
So this hasn't happened to anyone else? Seems to me like it'd be fairly common. If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
granmasterchen
like red dawn says, go see a doctor because you might have gotten yourself a nasty infection and you wouldn't want to let that go and get gangreen and end up losing your face or dying from it. I had a fellow martial artist friend of mine who was stubborn about getting an ingrown toe nail checked out that got infected, it developed into gangreen and he ended up having his leg amputated after he didn't show up for work and his family found him unconscious in his bed. The mouth is a very dirty area and there is a good chance that there may be an infection with what you described. Go get it checked out. That which does not destroy me will only make me stronger
sunchaser
The same thing happened to me. My teeth got pushed into my lower lip and I was left with a little fluid filled sack.Long story short it was a damagaed salivary duct which created a mucoseal (the little fluid filled sack)I had to go to an oral surgeon. The procedure was no big deal. They gave me an IV put me out cold and cut it out 2 little stiches and that was that.Jill

marie curie
I've had my teeth driven into my lip before, but never prolonged swelling like that... sounds like it probably needs a dr's eye.
