Holland
I graded with my daughter a few weeks ago. We graded for different belts but at same time. It really is great when you are involved in something together. She was also grading to yellow belt. Was so proud That is one thing that I like about my dojo. Out of like 75 active people, only around 15 are not related to someone. I am a san-dan...older brother is a Ni-dan, Wife is a sho-dan, sister-in-law is a green belt. We have several complete families (mom, dad, and kids) in the dojo. It really adds to the atmosphere.
KarateK
I agree Holland. Its my Mum's club, who is 2nd dan black belt, with her partner, a 5th dan black belt. I do it, as does my daugher. There are a lot of families in our club, its nice especially in this day and age (don't I sound old) when families don't spend so much time together. Sohan
Brazilian Ju Jitsu founders who perpetuate the art today. Last checked, I think there's about 4,657,894 of them around the world, and they're all undefeated. Sohan
Nah, they're a very obscure bunch. Any experienced martial artist would have made the same mistake. Aodhan
Am I being a dumb blonde here??The Gracies?......In the early days of the UFC, Royce (pronounced hoyse) Gracie introduced brazilian Jiu jitsu (BJJ) to the mixed martial arts arena. He went undefeated for several UFC competitions. He and his brother Renzo are probably the two biggest reasons that BJJ and grappling arts have made such a surge in popularity the past few years.
