GMac Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Just found out that both me and my son will be testing for our yellow belts in April. I think it is great that we train together and am excited about the possibly of getting our belts together. Our Sensei said that this might be our hardest test of all ranks due to the fact of having knowing nothing when we started. We have to to do stances, blocks, strikes, 4 kata, and 5 step kumite.
red dawn Posted March 19, 2006 Posted March 19, 2006 Good luck! I hope everything goes well! I never said it wasn't dangerous.
Scummy Posted March 20, 2006 Posted March 20, 2006 much luck to u and your son stick with it karate is very rewarding
Dlove Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 Sounds like you are going to have fun, good luck, myself and both of my daughters just had our test last Wed. and passed... Its great to do things with your kids... "The patient fighter does'nt just charge his opponent, attacking at random and exposing himself to a counter. Rather, he waits until his opponite makes a mistake and engages when victory can be ensured" Jhoon Rhee
Sohan Posted April 10, 2006 Posted April 10, 2006 One's first belt test can be just as rewarding, perhaps even more so, than a black belt test. I am sure it is even more gratifying to achieve this with your child. Best wishes to you in your MA journey.Respectfully,Sohan "If I cannot become one of extraordinary accomplishment, I will not walk the earth." GMac Posted April 26, 2006 Author Posted April 26, 2006 Had class tonight and both me and my son passed our test and received our yellow belts. .I was more proud to see him get his than anything. He worked hard and earned it. Now I am looking forward to more learning and training

Holland Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Congratulations. It is always particularly nice to shed the white belt for something with some color!
KarateK Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 I graded with my daughter a few weeks ago. We graded for different belts but at same time. It really is great when you are involved in something together. She was also grading to yellow belt. Was so proud Karate Ni Sentinashi
lordtariel Posted April 27, 2006 Posted April 27, 2006 Congrats. Always feels better to have some color around your waist. There's no place like 127.0.0.1
