shift Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=8530050435368865797&q=tkdThis action is really good. It's similar to the sparring in my Kung Fu class. My MMA Comic
patusai Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 kinda like a streetfight with some padding "Don't tell me the sky's the limit because I have seen footprints on the moon!" -- Paul Brandt
BJJ is 1 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 (edited) Yeah, that happend a few years ago over in Polland I think, any way the promoters were trying to bridge the gap between BJJ and MMA, at least that is what I was told Edited February 18, 2006 by BJJ is #1 "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
SubGrappler Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I believe the rules have it that you cant punch to the face once on the ground. Its a nice little stepping stone between grappling arts such as Judo and BJJ to full contact MMA.I think its entertaining to watch, even though most of the fighters are white and blue belts. MMA with a gi is something I think could be very entertaining to watch. These types of competitions are very popular (so Im told) in Europe and Austrailia.
BJJ is 1 Posted February 17, 2006 Posted February 17, 2006 I think there were tkd guys in this one too but they did not do well "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
patusai Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I thought I saw white belts going up against black belts...maybe my eyes are going?? "Don't tell me the sky's the limit because I have seen footprints on the moon!" -- Paul Brandt

UseoForce Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 Well, there are plenty of TKD bb's that have been training about as long as a BJJ white belt, right? If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
BJJ is 1 Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 I think you progress alot faster in tkd, but I'm not sure "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
shift Posted February 19, 2006 Author Posted February 19, 2006 I know this has nothing to do with Jiu Jitsu but I thought it was entertaining. It's like tae kwon do and judo or aikido My MMA Comic
