Spirit At Choice Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 Sounds interesting! I am moving to an apartment complex with a weight room and would like to start working out with weights. Let me know how this works for you. I'll pick one up if it's any good. White belt mind. Black belt heart....Rejoice and be glad!
MizuRyu Posted February 15, 2006 Posted February 15, 2006 I recommend also joining the forum at https://www.davedraper.com... been there for a long time and they ALWAYS have the answers to any questions you have about bodybuilding! Im brasilian, but live in the united states. Really enjoying martial arts.
Maddwraph Posted February 18, 2006 Author Posted February 18, 2006 any other books people might reccomend? hows the ab diet book, i hear good things about that book. Im brasilian, but live in the united states. Really enjoying martial arts.
white lily Posted February 18, 2006 Posted February 18, 2006 just make sure that you train for your art. General weight training has very little transferability to the the specific requirements of the combative arts.take the time to search the net for info...maybe start at https://www.martial-athlete.com or the https://www.dragondoor.com. Both will give you the specific training info you desire.cheers
Maddwraph Posted February 22, 2006 Author Posted February 22, 2006 has anyone read or heard of the abs diet book? i hear its a bestseller . Im brasilian, but live in the united states. Really enjoying martial arts.
ki master Posted March 4, 2006 Posted March 4, 2006 sounds fun I would like to read it "Now the valiant can fight; the cautious can defend, and the wise counsel. Thus there is none whose talent is wasted."-Li Ch'uan-
Dragn Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 A book like that will probably give you a good intro to the basic techs of body building. Good enough for a start. But once you get seriously into strength training you'll want to look for something more specific for athletes.Body building and power training for sports are quite different. Pretty bodies and big muscles arent always as strong as they look. Following a body building program can actually have a negative effect on your progress.
