Secondly first thing that comes to mind is boxing .Quite a few styles can be concentratated on punches or kicks or pretty much what you prefer (well for Shotokan at least, or at the very least how I was taught).I'd say that many martial arts a punch driven and speed driven but they all use body connection. No matter the martial art, I think I can safely say that most martial arts teach and train to use the body as a whole, such as hips for rotation or distancing. Or another example could be footwork. italian_guy
...maybe also wing chun and Tai Chi Chuan deals mostly with hands and some low kick, another art that uses only hand is Ba qua I think....
ravenzoom
Your dewscription makes me think of muay Thai (punches, kicks, elbows, knees) I think Muay Thai is what you're searching for.
aefibird
For fist-based/hand-based styles then Western or Chinese Boxing, Muay Thai, Wing Chun, Tai Chi. Shotokan Karate (depends on the school, though) also does a lot of hand work, but it usually incorporates kicking too. "Was it really worth it? Only time and death may ever tell..." Uechi could be considerd mostly hand techniques with some leg work. TKD is the opposite, mostly kicking with a little bit of striking. Now the question to answer your question, is why are you asking this? For instance boxing is a great sport, but as far as being practical I'd say it's not as useful for self defense as some other arts. For good self defense you really should look at the techniques and how efficent they are. Combined with conditioning, as well as a combination of striking, kicking, and ground work.As far as speed, speed is mostly a function of how you train. You can learn to be fast. The trick is to do good technique fast.
