His punches come from odd angles and they are hard to see coming in most of his kayo victories they are the phantom haymaker that you dont see coming. What I think makes chuck good is his sprawl ability, or his ability to control wher the fight takes place.

Oh yea, all his good punches come from odd angles, because he so well manipulates the other fighter into being where he shouldn't, and bam, Chucks right there with a fist in his jaw. Wish I was that good. You've probably heard the addage before "it's the ones you DONT see coming that knock you out."

Too true, even Randy (may his career rest in peace, Ill miss him) couldn't get him to the ground but for a second- and Chuck got right back up. I'm starting to think he's not going to get beat for a while- it'll take someone like Randy (who's now gone) to beat him (literally) on the ground once getting him there, or someone as good as Vanderlei (how do you spell that?) to beat him on his feet. I remember right after Chuck fought Randy the first time, when he lost, Randy had said that Chuck only needed to tweak his game a little bit... and it appears hes done just that. Anyway, this should be an interesting time, maybe a new era in the UFC.

Actually, I differ from the popular opinion that taking Liddell to the ground is the answer.

IF-IF-IF one manages to get Chuck down and still be in one piece, then you have to deal with an experienced BJJer and NCAA Division A wrestler. Chuck doesn't like going to ground because he has a EXCELLENT stand-up game. THIS DOES NOT EQUATE TO HIM HAVING A WEAK GROUND GAME! Let me reiterate: Just because a fighter is good at stand up does not mean he is weak grappler. All it means is that he PREFERs to stand. Chuck's ground game is probably great; Look at it this way: On a scale of 1-10, Chuck's stand-up is probably a 9. That doesn't mean his ground is a 2! In fact, I bet it is 7+.

If it works, use it!

If not, throw it out!

From my limited knowledge of chuck, I'd guess someone who is tall and able to hit hard and retreat is a strong opponent from him. If I was going to fight him, I'd be looking for a decision win(even though he would have everyones side).

I have always admired Chuck's KO power...its a true art.

But did you see the PRIDE fight with Chuck vs Quinton "Rampage" Jackson? I known it's old, but wow!...Rampage took it to him and won. It was kinda out of character from what I am use to seeing with Chuck.

Experienced wrestler, yea, that's why it's so hard to get him to the ground, and to keep him there. But Chuck isn't a big BJJ guy- so a good enough ground-n-pounder or submission artist would still have the edge- while still on the ground. At a grappler's quest Chuck probably wouldn't win against the brown and black belts, maybe even purples... unless he got away with getting points from takedowns, getting back up, and doing it again the entire time.
