makosub-wrestling Posted February 10, 2006 Posted February 10, 2006 He was also training with eddie bravo before this fight and with his long lean fram his rubber guard is got to be tight.
BJJ is 1 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Yeah, I read he was a purple belt also.I have also heard rumors of Chuck going to PRIDE again bad move IMO, its harder to keep the fight standing in a ring v. a cage because you cannot use th ropes for support plus in PRIDE you have world class judo players like Yoshida and Ogawa who con take chuck down and even though he is a purple belt Chuck wont like being on the ground "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
TheAnimal Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 The biggest reason Chuck would want to avoid Pride is Wanderlei, I'd think. Although, a good reason to go there would be Wanderlei, if you think about it. Not to mention the money now that he's UFC champ.... I don't know about those Judo guys takin Chuck down even, he's gooood at staying up. And at getting up.
BJJ is 1 Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 He's a great fighter but I still think he would get owned in pride "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
UseoForce Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 Bring pride on! Chuck has improved so much since Quinton, he'd rule. If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
TheAnimal Posted February 11, 2006 Posted February 11, 2006 Man, I don't know. Tough call, he's at the top of his game right now for sure, but Pride does have some fantastic fighters. I'd really like to find out though. Chuck said he wanted to take on Silva after he won the belt, too.
UseoForce Posted February 11, 2006 Author Posted February 11, 2006 Love to see it happen... If it works, use it!If not, throw it out!
BJJ is 1 Posted February 12, 2006 Posted February 12, 2006 Love to see it happen...It probably wont, Chuck is to important to the UFC "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
Ben Martin Posted February 14, 2006 Posted February 14, 2006 (edited) I'd like to see exactly how he trains, because his training methods obviously must perfect. Plus we'd be able to get a sense of what gives him the certain power over the other many hard-driven MMA.mbvc Edited October 5, 2013 by Ben Martin Strive to Become The Type Of Person That Others Do Not Normally Encounter In This WorldI would love it if everyone i spoke to or met throughout my life would benefit from being with or speaking to me. - Life goalI See The Sunshine But Their's A Storm Holding Me Back.
BJJ is 1 Posted February 16, 2006 Posted February 16, 2006 Silva and shogun would both destroy chuck imo "Without Jiu Jitsu its like without my two legs."-Rickson Graciehttps://www.myspace.com/cobraguard
